Hyderabad: Authorities have stepped up security at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, with CISF personnel now closely monitoring the premises. Surveillance has been tightened, and high-alert measures are currently in place around the clock.
The security upgrade is a joint effort involving local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and the Special Branch police. Officials are making full use of the airport’s wide CCTV network to keep constant watch over the area.
Given the precautions, passengers are being urged to reach the airport at least three hours before their flight. Strict screening protocols, as directed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, are being followed for all travellers.
Meanwhile, flights to five destinations — Srinagar, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Chandigarh, and Rajkot — have been suspended for now. Airport officials haven’t said how long the pause will last but confirmed it’s being done as a safety measure.
