Hyderabad: Heavy pre-dawn rains on Thursday left the premises of a government school in Ramnagar, Shamshabad mandal, flooded and unusable, forcing students to wade through stagnant water.
The waterlogged school compound resembled a pond, drawing criticism from local residents who accused the government of neglecting basic infrastructure despite repeated claims of strengthening public education.
The school, located in Ranga Reddy district’s Shamshabad rural area, was unable to drain rainwater effectively, causing inconvenience to both students and staff.
Villagers demanded immediate intervention to ensure proper drainage systems are installed to prevent recurring disruptions during the monsoon.
They called on authorities to match their promotional rhetoric with practical improvements on the ground, especially in government schools.
