Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Congress president Y.S. Sharmila on Monday urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to establish a memorial park in Hyderabad in memory of her father, former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
Sharmila said such a park would be a fitting tribute to YSR’s legacy and appealed to the Congress-led state government to act promptly on the request. She added that the proposal aligns with the sentiments of many admirers of the late leader in both Telugu states.
She has also written to senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi requesting her support in pushing the proposal forward.
The appeal was made on the occasion of YSR’s birth anniversary, during which Sharmila paid floral tributes at his memorial in Idupulapaya.
