Hyderabad: The Siasat Hub Foundation has announced India’s first dedicated media incubator in Hyderabad. The initiative aims to train and support youth in journalism, content creation, and digital media entrepreneurship.
The plan will roll out in two phases. In the first phase, the Foundation will launch the Siasat Media Academy. It will offer short-term courses in digital journalism, podcasting, video production, design, content creation, freelancing, and public relations.
Media incubator in Hyderabad to support next-gen creators and startups
The courses will focus on practical, industry-ready skills. These will be delivered in collaboration with media houses, PR firms, YouTube creators, and OTT platforms. As a result, students will gain real-world exposure throughout their training.
Additionally, participants will benefit from Siasat’s wide media network. They will receive expert mentorship, internships, and certificates. The goal is to prepare youth for freelance careers, podcast production, YouTube content creation, and other digital media paths.
The second phase will launch a Media Incubation Centre within six to twelve months. This centre will support top-performing students and promising media startups. Support will include co-working space, professional studios, and high-end equipment.
Moreover, the centre will provide business mentorship and seed funding. The funding will be backed by CSR partnerships and media development grants. Selected creators will also receive launchpad support for their projects.
These projects could range from hyperlocal YouTube channels and minority community podcasts to news portals, animation ventures, journalism startups, and digital marketing agencies.
Siasat explores academic partnerships for media education model
In preparation for the launch, Siasat News Editor Amer Ali Khan has started engaging with leading journalism institutions. On Thursday, he met Sasi Kumar, Chairman of the Asian College of Journalism, and A.S. Paneerselvam, Director General of the Chennai Institute of Journalism.
They discussed possible collaborations and best practice models. Khan said the initiative reflects Siasat’s commitment to youth empowerment through relevant media skills.
“The Academy will prepare youth with the skills they need today. The Incubator will ensure they can turn those skills into sustainable media ventures,” he added.
