Hyderabad: A tragic accident in Sangareddy district claimed the lives of two siblings after a woman learning to drive lost control of a car and hit the children.
The incident occurred Monday morning in Naregudem. The victims 10-year-old Mani Varma and 14-year-old sister Ekavani were playing when the vehicle veered into them. The woman, identified as Maheshwari, was reportedly practising driving with her husband Ravi Shekhar, without proper guidance or supervision.
Mani Varma died on the spot. Ekavani, severely injured, was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed during treatment.
Locals said Shekhar, a resident of Naregudem, had taken his children Ekavani and Mani Varma to an open ground when the accident happened. Maheshwari and Ravi Shekhar, residents of Neovya Colony, arrived at the same ground in a car for driving practice. It was then that Maheshwari, while behind the wheel, lost control and struck the children.
