Hyderabad: Telangana’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Sub-Inspector and a constable accepting a ₹50,000 bribe at Mulugu police station under Siddipet Commissionerate.
Sub-Inspector Ch. Vijay Kumar and constable-driver Raju had demanded the bribe from a complainant. The officers promised help in a property eviction case involving the complainant’s sister. They also offered support in an earlier case filed at the same station.
After receiving a formal complaint, the ACB set a trap and caught them red-handed. Officials arrested both and launched legal action.
The ACB urged the public to report bribery by government staff. Citizens can call the toll-free number 1064 or send a message on WhatsApp to 9440446106. Complaints can also be made on Facebook (Telangana ACB), X (@TelanganaACB), or the website http://acb.telangana.gov.in.
The bureau assured that it will keep all complainant information strictly confidential.
