Siddipet: In a shocking revelation, police in Siddipet district have arrested a woman who admitted to killing her two-month-old son and falsely claiming he had been kidnapped.
The incident occurred in Appanapalli village of Dubbak mandal. According to police reports, the child’s mother, Kavitha, initially filed a complaint at Dubbak police station on Thursday morning, alleging that two unidentified men abducted her son the previous night while she was outside with the child.
Kavitha claimed that the men approached her on a motorcycle, engaged her in conversation, and fled with the infant. She and her husband, Sreeman, a resident of Appanapalli, told police the incident took place while Sreeman was away in Rudraram for work at his sister’s home.
However, during interrogation, Kavitha confessed to fabricating the kidnapping story. She admitted to throwing her son into a well on the outskirts of the village the same night. Police later retrieved the infant’s body with the help of a crane.
Kavitha has been taken into custody and transferred to the Siddipet Women Police Station. Investigators suspect the killing was the result of ongoing domestic disputes between the couple. Further investigation is underway.
