Hyderabad: Sigachi Industries has announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹1 crore to each family of workers killed in the Pasmailaram industrial accident, which left 40 dead and 33 injured.
In a letter addressed to stock exchanges on July 2, the company confirmed that injured workers would be provided full medical and rehabilitation support.
Company secretary Vivek Kumar stated that Sigachi Industries had been working with emergency response teams and supporting compliance and investigation processes since the incident. The company also clarified that the blast was not triggered by a reactor explosion, contradicting some media reports.
Plant operations will remain suspended for around 90 days pending investigation, the company said.
