Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram has set revised production targets to boost output and speed up expansion plans. In a video conference held from Kothagudem with all Area General Managers, he instructed that daily coal production must reach 2.25 lakh tonnes, with 14 lakh cubic meters of overburden (OB) removed daily.
Balram said the company achieved only 91% of production and 93% of transportation targets in the first half of the financial year, largely due to heavy rainfall. He directed teams to compensate for the shortfall by focusing on intensified production over the next six months.
The CMD highlighted several strategic developments, including Singareni’s planned entry into critical mineral exploration. He said the company had received government clearance to take part in coal block and mineral auctions. He also revealed that 10 acres had been allocated in Future City for the firm’s upcoming international office.
Balram called on employees to understand the company’s financial position and expansion goals. He urged them to maintain a full 8-hour shift and commit to improving workplace culture. “Safe, quality coal production and efficient use of manpower are key to becoming an international player,” he said.
Area-wise review meetings will continue, the CMD confirmed. Directors L.V. Suryanarayana, K. Venkateswarlu, Gautham Potru, and Tirumala Rao, along with Executive Director (Coal Movement) B. Venkanna and GM (Coordination & Marketing) T. Srinivas, also attended the review from Hyderabad, along with all Area and Corporate GMs.
