Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) aims to produce 16 million tonnes of coal during the first quarter of the current financial year, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Balaram has directed company officials.
Pointing out that the initial three months of the year offer favourable conditions for production, Balaram urged the management to fully capitalise on this window. He instructed general managers across all areas to ensure the removal of 1,200 lakh cubic metres of overburden (OB) daily to support the coal output target.
Referring to year-on-year performance, Balaram noted that coal dispatches in April stood at 5.81 million tonnes, marking a 2.7 percent increase from the 5.66 million tonnes recorded in April last year.
In a move towards gender inclusivity, he also recommended assigning women employees to both open-cast and underground mines and running an entire shift staffed exclusively by women, as part of efforts to enhance their participation in mining operations.
