HYDERABAD, February 3: Six students from the Nemalipuri Social Welfare Boys Gurukul School in Kodad mandal, Suryapet district, who were reported missing, have been safely located in Vijayawada. The police successfully traced and brought them back.
The incident began during a farewell party organised by the teachers as the academic year for Class 10 was concluding. Some students reportedly consumed alcohol before attending the event and subsequently got into altercations with their peers. Following reprimands from the teachers, six students—identified as Bhanu Prakash, Naga Vamsi, Vikas, Jagan, Yuvaraj, and Ajay—left the school premises.
Concerned about their absence, the teachers filed a complaint with the local police. Authorities reviewed CCTV footage and determined that the students had travelled to Vijayawada. A police team was dispatched to Vijayawada, where they located the students and safely returned them to the school.
Upon their return, the students underwent special counselling sessions before being handed over to the school authorities. The teachers and parents expressed relief that the students were unharmed.
