Hyderabad: Panic gripped MGM Hospital on Friday morning after a snake was spotted slithering inside the radiology department. Room number 92. The place was packed. OP hours in full swing.
Patients froze. Some screamed. Staff ran for cover. No one dared go in for a while.
Security and sanitation workers moved in fast, cornered the snake, caught it, and dumped it in a deserted patch nearby. Breathing room, finally.
But no one’s surprised. The hospital campus is overrun with wild weed. Bushes thick enough to house snakes. Staff say it’s become routine. Snakes aren’t rare here anymore.
Two turned up inside the wards on back-to-back days not long ago. Not an isolated incident. Patients and employees blame it on shoddy sanitation and say this chaos speaks volumes about the way the place is being run.
They’re asking for one thing: fix the mess before it gets worse.
