HYDERABAD: A software employee in Hyderabad allegedly died by suicide due to dowry harassment by her husband. The incident took place in the Raidurgam Police Station limits at Prashanthi Hills, where the woman was residing with her husband.
The deceased, identified as Devika (35), got married to Satish six months ago in Goa. Both were employed in software companies and had been living together in Hyderabad.
On Sunday midnight, Devika was found hanging from the ceiling fan in their house. It was her husband, Satish, who discovered the incident around 10 AM on Monday and informed both the police and Devika’s family.
Preliminary reports suggest that disputes between the couple led to her tragic step. However, Devika’s mother, Ramalakshmi, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that her daughter was driven to suicide due to continuous dowry harassment by Satish.
The police have registered a case and shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
