Hyderabad: BRS senior leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail on Wednesday predicted a decisive victory in the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll, claiming the party would win by over 50,000 votes. He accused the Congress of misrule and demanded that the ruling party face the electorate with accountability.
Addressing BRS workers, Sohail said the party always sought votes based on its development record, not on emotional appeals. He alleged that Congress leaders were engaging in weekly “political stunts” to mislead voters. “Every Friday, they stage some spectacle. We must respond with clarity and strength,” he said.
Congress failed Telangana, says Sohail
Sohail said the Congress-led government had failed to deliver on its promises during its 22-month tenure. He pointed out the ruling party’s internal confusion over its Jubilee Hills candidate. “One day it’s Ranjith Reddy, another day Bonthu Rammohan, then Naveen Yadav. They have no clarity,” he said. “Let Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself contest if he believes he has governed well.”
He accused the Congress of reducing Telangana’s growth trajectory, stating, “A state once seen as a model has been pulled to the ground. Congress only divides, it doesn’t develop.”
Sohail appeals for unity within BRS
Calling for unity, Sohail urged party workers to put aside internal differences. “Even brothers disagree at home, but they stand united to protect it. We must do the same for Telangana,” he said.
He also addressed public grievances, apologising for past mistakes by BRS workers and urging voters not to be swayed by them. “From today, we must move forward with determination. Our flag must rise high,” he said.
Sohail concluded by predicting a landslide victory. “This will not be a win by 40,000 or 50,000 votes—it will be more. Inshallah, we will gift this seat to KTR and KCR,” he declared.
