Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Dr Sravan Dasoju accused the Telangana Government of turning Osmania University into a “police camp” and filing false FIRs against students. In a tweet, he said police intimidated students, seized pamphlets, and used batons against those demanding jobs and allowances.
According to Sravan, the government failed to deliver on major promises. He listed the ₹5 lakh Vidya Bharosa Card, ₹4,000 monthly unemployment allowance, ₹10,000 research fellowship, a June 2 job calendar, two lakh government jobs, and fee reimbursement. “Not one of these has been implemented,” he said.
He argued that instead of jobs, students were being punished with “batons, FIRs and humiliation.” Sravan accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of inaugurating hostels and libraries only for publicity while denying students the right to question his rule.
The Congress leader also criticised Rahul Gandhi, saying his silence on Telangana clashed with his speeches on constitutional values in Delhi.
Sravan urged the Hyderabad police commissioner, the Telangana DGP and the Chief Minister’s Office to withdraw the cases. He shared copies of police complaints, claiming they were used to frame students with fabricated FIRs.
