Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr Sravan Dasoju on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of hypocrisy over the appointment of senior IAS officer K Ramakrishna Rao as the Chief Secretary of Telangana, questioning how the “financial architect” of the BRS regime could be rewarded after being accused of enabling “economic atrocities”.
Speaking to the media, Dr Sravan alleged that Ramakrishna Rao, who had served as the principal architect of Telangana’s financial policies under the BRS government, was now being elevated by the very leader who had earlier criticised those policies.
“If Revanth Reddy truly believes that the BRS regime committed fiscal mismanagement and economic atrocities, how can he now appoint the same officer who designed and implemented those decisions as the State’s top bureaucrat?” Sravan asked. “And if those accusations were false, does it not expose Revanth’s past criticism as mere political mudslinging?”
Dr Sravan Dasoju recalled that Revanth Reddy had repeatedly accused the previous BRS government of pushing Telangana into financial ruin over the past sixteen months. Yet, he said, the Chief Minister had now entrusted Ramakrishna Rao, who presented eleven State budgets and oversaw all major borrowings and allocations during the BRS tenure, with the highest administrative post.
Calling the move a “living proof of political deceit,” Dr Sravan said that by Revanth Reddy’s own logic, either the BRS government was not guilty of fiscal mismanagement, or the Chief Minister was now complicit by appointing its alleged architect to a key post.
“Revanth Reddy has been exposed,” Sravan said. “His politics is no longer about change or transparency, but about convenience and manipulation. By retaining and promoting those he once demonised, he has lost all moral credibility.”
Dr Sravan Dasoju also demanded an immediate public apology from the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues for what he termed as a campaign of lies and defamation against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the BRS administration.
