Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan launched a fierce attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of delivering an “empty” and “misleading” speech at the CREDAI event while ignoring the ongoing crisis in Telangana’s construction industry. He claimed the CM offered no solutions, no assurances, and showed no vision for the sector’s survival.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, Sravan said Revanth’s address lacked substance and failed to acknowledge the scale of distress faced by builders, investors, and daily-wage workers in Hyderabad. “At a time when the construction sector is in collapse, not a single reassuring word came from the CM,” he said.
Sravan blames CM for investor flight, GHMC delays, and real estate breakdown
Sravan asserted that Hyderabad is the revenue engine of Telangana and warned that a failure in the construction sector would cripple the entire state economy. “Hyderabad’s image as a global investment hub painstakingly built by KCR and KTR is now under serious threat,” he said.
He alleged that building permissions under GHMC and HMDA have drastically slowed, with thousands of applications stuck in limbo. He further claimed that the only way to secure approvals was by paying ‘RR tax,’ a term he used to describe systemic corruption.
“Revanth speaks of transparency, but where is the transparency in GHMC or HMDA?” Sravan asked. “The only thing that moves is bribe money.” He claimed he had filed an RTI seeking clarity on pending permissions, but the replies were vague and evasive.
He accused the government of weaponising RERA and HYDRA, describing them as the CM’s “right and left hands” used to suppress the real estate community. “Under KCR, we saw law and order, investment, and public trust. Under Revanth, we see daylight robberies, confusion, and collapse,” he charged.
Mocking Revanth’s calls for middle-class leadership, Sravan said, “He flaunts expensive T-shirts and shoes while calling himself a common man. His governance is not common sense it’s crude sense. Total nonsense.”
He also criticised the proposal to raise registration charges, calling it a death sentence for the industry. “The CM is placing the construction sector inside a coffin and then hammering in the nails himself,” Sravan remarked.
According to him, the administration’s focus is on attacking KCR and praising Chandrababu Naidu, instead of addressing local challenges. “When Kaleshwaram faced a minor issue, it was mocked as ‘Kuleshwaram.’ But now that Polavaram’s coffer dam is washed away again, there is silence. Where are the same voices now?” he asked.
Sravan concluded by distancing his remarks from personal vendetta. “We are not fighting individuals. We are fighting to uphold the Constitution,” he said. He also stated that leaders like M Kodandaram and Vem Narender Reddy, too, had become scapegoats in what he described as the “Revanth–BJP–Tamilisai conspiracy.” He predicted that the upcoming Supreme Court verdict on September 17 would be historic.
