Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad have now etched their name across the IPL record books, owning the top four highest team totals in the league’s history. On Sunday, they added another staggering number 278 for 3 to that elite list, demolishing Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs in Delhi.
This latest onslaught, fuelled by Heinrich Klaasen’s thunderous century and Travis Head’s fiery half-ton, left the defending champions in tatters. The Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed yet another SRH run-fest, as bowlers were sent on a leather hunt.
Batting first, Hyderabad showed no mercy. Klaasen’s clean hitting and Head’s aggressive start helped them post a total that was both imposing and inevitable. Sunil Narine claimed two wickets, but KKR were outplayed from the outset.
Chasing 279, Kolkata’s innings never found rhythm. They crumbled for 168, with Harsh Dubey, Ishan Malinga and Jaydev Unadkat snatching three wickets each, sealing a one-sided contest.
With this win, SRH concluded their season in sixth place. KKR, who entered the tournament as defending champions, ended a forgettable campaign in eighth.
SRH’s recent totals now read like a batting blueprint for the ages:
287/3 vs RCB (2024)
277/3 vs MI (2024)
286/6 vs RR (2025)
278/3 vs KKR (2025)
