Hyderabad: Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Friday paid rich tributes to former Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah, calling him a statesman admired across party lines for his principled and value-based political life.
Speaking at Rosaiah’s 92nd birth anniversary celebrations and the unveiling of his statue at Lakdikapul, Sridhar Babu described him as a towering figure whose humility never wavered even after rising to the highest offices.
He noted that Rosaiah never sought power, but positions found him thanks to his integrity and dedication. From an ordinary worker, Rosaiah advanced through sheer merit to serve as MLC, MLA, MP, Minister, Chief Minister, and Governor, upholding the dignity of every role he held.
Sridhar Babu highlighted Rosaiah’s eloquence, deep study, and administrative abilities, along with steadfast party loyalty, as qualities that elevated him to legendary status.
Till the end of his life, Rosaiah remained committed to public service, known for thorough research and for voicing people’s concerns fearlessly in the Legislature. Sridhar Babu said Rosaiah’s speeches still offer guidance on public policy and governance.
He also spoke of a personal bond, recalling Rosaiah’s close ties with his family and particularly with his father, Duddilla Sripada Rao. Sridhar Babu said it was an honour to have served as a Minister under Rosaiah’s leadership.
Pointing to Rosaiah’s record of presenting the State Budget 16 times, Sridhar Babu hailed him as not just a politician, but a capable economist and policymaker.
He added that the present government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy draws inspiration from Rosaiah’s legacy in working for Telangana’s development.
