Hyderabad: IT and Communications Minister D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday announced that Telangana residents can now get community certificates re-issued faster through MeeSeva. He said the new system, launched two weeks ago, had already helped over 17,500 people and would benefit around 20 lakh applicants each year.
He explained that citizens from BC, SC, and ST communities can re-issue their certificates at MeeSeva centres without fresh approvals. This applies unless the case involves caste conversions, as outlined in GO No.3 dated September 9, 2020.
“We want to deliver public services quickly and with certainty. At the same time, we are protecting exceptional cases through necessary safeguards,” Sridhar Babu said after a review with senior officials.
Reforms simplify Meeseva community certificate process
People with their old certificate number can get instant reprints. Others can search using district, mandal, village, sub-caste, or name. Each re-issued certificate will show the original approving officer’s details and the new issue date.
However, if applicants need to correct names or personal details, they must file a grievance with the district authority. Those changes will still require new approval.
Officials finalised the reforms after consultations with the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA), and the departments of BC, SC, and ST Welfare. District officers and Tahsildars also participated in the process.
Citizens can visit the MeeSeva website or their nearest centre for more information.
