Sridhar Babu urges corporate sector to support cyclone-affected families

Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu has called on the corporate sector to assist families affected by the recent Montha cyclone and heavy rainfall in Telangana.

In letters sent to various companies, the Minister appealed for immediate relief and rehabilitation efforts, particularly in Bhupalpally and Peddapalli districts. He urged firms to fulfil their corporate social responsibility (CSR) by providing essential goods, medical supplies, and organising support camps for distressed communities.

Sridhar Babu stressed that collective action was vital to aid citizens and farmers who lost homes, crops, and livelihoods due to the calamity. He noted that unseasonal rains destroyed standing crops and damaged harvested paddy and maize stored in transit or markets.

While the government continues relief operations, the Minister said private sector participation would significantly accelerate recovery in the cyclone-affected regions.
