Hyderabad: Former minister Srinivas Goud on Monday asked agriculture officials to ensure uninterrupted urea supply to farmers in Mahbubnagar district.
Call for adequate stock
Goud inspected the urea distribution at the Haka Rythu Seva Kendra on New Gunj, Boyapalli Road. He spoke with farmers waiting in line and expressed concern that many had stood there since early morning. He directed officials to provide drinking water at the distribution points.
The former minister also instructed them to keep enough stock so that all farmers could access fertilizer. He said two urea bags per acre should be given without delay.
Simplified distribution process
Referring to earlier practices, Goud asked the department to distribute urea using Aadhaar verification. He said officials should avoid insisting on passbooks, which caused unnecessary trouble to farmers.
BRS leaders accompanied him during the visit.
