Hyderabad: Heavy inflows into the Sriram Sagar Project in the undivided Nizamabad district continued on Thursday, prompting the release of large volumes of water downstream.
39 floodgates opened to handle rising water
The reservoir is currently receiving 2,60,000 cusecs of floodwater. Outflow from the project has reached 2,59,397 cusecs. Authorities are discharging 2,50,000 cusecs through 39 main gates to manage the surge.
The full reservoir level of the Sriram Sagar Project is 1,091 feet, while the current water level stands at 1,086.30 feet. Against the total storage capacity of 80.5 TMC, the project is presently holding 64.036 TMC of water.
