Srisailam gates lifted as inflows rise from upper catchment and Jurala

Srisailam inflows rise

Hyderabad: With continuous inflows from upper catchment areas and the Jurala project, authorities at the joint Telangana-Andhra Pradesh Srisailam reservoir have opened two radial gates up to 10 feet to release excess water.

Hydropower generation is also underway at both the right and left bank power stations. According to latest figures, the reservoir is receiving inflows of 75,383 cusecs, while outflows have been increased to 1,21,482 cusecs.

The full reservoir level of Srisailam is 885 feet. As of now, the water level has reached 883.50 feet.

Irrigation officials stated that inflows are expected to increase further and that the situation is being closely monitored to manage reservoir operations safely.
