Hyderabad: Steady flood inflows continued into major Krishna river projects on Monday, with substantial releases downstream from key reservoirs.
The Almatti project received 30,000 cusecs of inflow, releasing 20,000 cusecs. At Narayanpur, inflow stood at 60,000 cusecs, with 55,000 cusecs discharged. Ujjaini registered 2,551 cusecs inflow and 2,279 cusecs outflow. The Jurala project saw 1.49 lakh cusecs inflow against 1.19 lakh cusecs outflow. Tungabhadra recorded 28,000 cusecs inflow and 23,000 cusecs outflow.
Krishna basin projects record high releases from major dams
The Srisailam reservoir registered 1.52 lakh cusecs of inflow and released 1.01 lakh cusecs downstream. Nagarjuna Sagar received 65,800 cusecs of inflow while discharging 76,000 cusecs through four gates. Pulichintala recorded 91,000 cusecs inflow and 1.05 lakh cusecs outflow.
In the Godavari basin, all major projects except Sri Ram Sagar (SRSP) saw only mild inflows. SRSP recorded 34,734 cusecs, Singur 5,170 cusecs, and Nizamsagar 4,690 cusecs.
Cumulative hydroelectric generation from projects in the state this season reached 1,793 million units.
