Hyderabad: Outsourcing staff at Suryapet Government General Hospital staged a protest on Tuesday demanding immediate release of their pending salaries. The employees said 126 outsourcing workers, including lab technicians, computer operators, and drivers, had not received wages for the past five months.
Staff demand release of dues and agency appointment
Protesting workers said they struggled to pay house rents, school fees, and grocery bills due to the non-payment of salaries. They demanded that the government release the dues without delay and appoint a regular outsourcing agency for the hospital.
The employees said they had already submitted several petitions to the district collector but received no relief. They urged the collector to intervene and ensure payment of wages. Leaders also demanded equal pay for equal work.
The JAC leaders alleged that police arrested union leader Ashok Kumar on Tuesday and demanded his release. Leaders Ramarao, Narsireddy, Nagayya, Sagar, Vijay, Sai, Ramakanth, Kranti, Satish, Anil, Naveen, Sandeep, Janaki Ramulu, Bharat, Veeresh, and Madhu joined the protest.
