Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha is facing a formal complaint from fellow legislator Teenmaar Mallanna, who has accused her of orchestrating an attack and attempting to have him killed.
On July 14, Mallanna also known as Chinthapandu Naveen Kumar met with Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, submitting a written complaint demanding action against Kavitha and calling for her immediate disqualification from the Council.
Mallanna alleged that men linked to Kavitha attacked his office on July 13, vandalising furniture and property. During the scuffle, his gunman reportedly fired warning shots in the air. The incident has already led to police cases against both Kavitha and Mallanna at the Medipally police station.
Mallanna further accused Kavitha of targeting members of backward communities and said he would file a separate complaint with the state Director General of Police. “Police must act against Kavitha and her goons,” he said. He claimed Kavitha, as a member of a privileged political family, misinterpreted local idioms and traditions. “We said nothing inappropriate,” he added.
He said Kavitha must use her elected position to serve the public, not pursue vendettas. “Her actions show an intent to suppress BC voices,” Mallanna charged.
