Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested Rajesh, Sub-Inspector of Police and Station House Officer (SHO) of Tekmal Police Station in Medak district. He was arrested for accepting a ₹30,000 bribe from a complainant.
According to the ACB, the bribe was demanded in exchange for issuing notices in a case. This case had already been disposed of in Lok Adalat. It had been registered earlier at the same police station against the complainant and his associates.
When ACB officials arrived to catch him, Rajesh attempted to flee with the bribe amount. However, the officials pursued and apprehended him in nearby agricultural fields.
The agency has urged citizens to report any bribery demands by public servants. Complaints can be made to the Anti-Corruption Bureau via toll-free number 1064. Additionally, reports can be made through WhatsApp at 9440446106 or through the official website acb.telangana.gov.in. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential.
