Telangana to give 15% pension hike to retired judicial officers aged 70–75

pension hike

Hyderabad: The Telangana General Administration Department issued fresh orders granting a 15% hike on basic pension for retired judicial officers aged between 70 and 75 years.

The directive followed a representation from the Telangana State Retired Judicial Officers Association, which urged the government to apply the same pension enhancement rules as those granted to other retired state employees in the same age bracket.

In a prior order dated July 24, 2023, the department had approved additional pension benefits for retired judicial officers above 70 years of age, but did not specify the exact percentage for those between 70 and 75.

Telangana aligns judicial officers’ pension with state retirees

Currently, retired state government employees aged 70 to 75 receive 15% of their basic pension as an additional benefit. The new order clarifies that retired judicial officers in this age group will now receive the same increment.

The move ensures parity in pension disbursement and removes ambiguity from earlier communications.
