Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Friday transferred 23 IPS officers in a major reshuffle across the police department. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao issued the orders through G.O.Rt No.1342.
Officials said the exercise aimed to improve policing, strengthen law and order, and streamline administration. Senior officers, therefore, assumed charge of new positions in Hyderabad, state directorates, and districts.
Sajjanar takes charge as Hyderabad Police Commissioner
The government appointed V.C. Sajjanar as Hyderabad Police Commissioner. Until now, he served as Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. He replaced C.V. Anand, who moved as Special Chief Secretary (Home). Meanwhile, Ravi Gupta, who earlier held that role, shifted to Executive Vice-Chairman and Director General, Centre for Good Governance.
Shikha Goel assumed charge as Director General, Vigilance & Enforcement, while continuing with additional responsibility for the Cyber Security Bureau. In addition, Swati Lakra took over as Director General, Special Protection Force. Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat also began duties as Additional DG of Police (Personnel).
DG-level reshuffle across state wings
Charu Sinha became Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Anil Kumar moved to Greyhounds and Octopus as Additional DG (Operations). Vijay Kumar, IPS (1997), took charge as Additional DG, Intelligence.
At the same time, Y. Nagi Reddy shifted to the RTC as Managing Director. Devendra Singh Chauhan joined as Additional DG of Police, Multizone-II. Later, Vikram Singh Mann assumed charge as DG, Telangana Disaster Response and Fire Services. Moreover, Stephen Raveendra moved to the position of Commissioner of Civil Supplies and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary.
District and zonal postings under the reshuffle
In Hyderabad city, M. Srinivasulu took charge as Additional CP, Crimes. Tafseer Iqbal joined as Joint CP, Law and Order. S.M. Vijay Kumar, who earlier worked as DCP West Zone, became Commissioner of Police, Siddipet.
Other postings included Sindhu Sharma as Joint Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau; G. Vineeth as SP, Narayanpet; B. Anuradha as DCP, LB Nagar Zone; Ch. Praveen Kumar as Joint Director, ACB; and Yogesh Goutam as DCP, Rajendranagar. Finally, the government confirmed that all officers immediately reported to their new posts after notification. Consequently, officials expect smoother coordination across law and order units.
