Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday said the state was advancing rapidly towards becoming a $3 trillion economy. He was speaking after inaugurating the Motilal Oswal Executive Centre at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Gachibowli.
He said Telangana, India’s youngest state, was competing globally and called on ISB students to contribute to its development. The government, he added, was investing in education on an unprecedented scale. “Public governance firmly believes that investment in education will drive state progress,” he remarked.
Young India residential schools launched
Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the government had begun setting up Young India Integrated Residential Schools to provide world-class education to students free of cost. Each school is being constructed on 25 acres with an investment of ₹200 crore, with work on 104 schools launched simultaneously across the state.
He said the government’s Skill University was designing its curriculum in consultation with industrialists to ensure that students secured employment immediately after graduation.
Special training for legislators
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy believed in continuous learning. He urged ISB to design and implement a five-day special training programme for the state’s MLAs and MLCs.
