Hyderabad: Telangana ACB booked a panchayat secretary in Suryapet district for taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 to clear housing scheme payments. The official, Injamoory Venkayya, works in Janpahad gram panchayat under Palakeedu mandal.

Venkayya had first demanded Rs 20,000 from a beneficiary of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He asked for the money to release the first payment and move the rest of the instalments. After the beneficiary asked for a reduction, he accepted Rs 15,000 as a bribe.
The Telangana ACB registered a case after receiving a formal complaint. They took swift action and began legal steps against the official. The department said it will continue to act firmly against corruption at every level.
