Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau has cautioned government officials and employees about fake phone calls being made in the name of ACB. Fraudsters are reportedly impersonating ACB officers to blackmail and extract money from public servants.
New cases have surfaced where callers, pretending to be from ACB, are demanding payments from government staff. Officials said this is a recent method being used for fraud. They urged employees to stay alert and not respond to any such calls.
Anyone receiving a money demand under the guise of ACB should immediately report the matter. Complaints can be lodged on the ACB toll-free number 1064.
The bureau warned that failing to stay alert could result in serious consequences. The advisory extends to the general public as well, not just officials. ACB said all such calls should be treated as suspicious and reported without delay.
