Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) warned government employees and the public against fake calls made in the name of its officers to extort money. The agency stated that fraudsters had been threatening public servants with false case registrations and demanding payments to withdraw them.
The bureau clarified that its officers never call public servants to demand money under any circumstances. “ACB does not say cases will be removed if money is paid,” the statement read. Officials stressed that seeking or accepting a bribe is a criminal offence in all situations.
