Hyderabad: The Telangana government has approved 7,650 additional BTech seats across engineering colleges, which have been included in the second-phase counselling starting Friday. Official orders were issued Thursday evening, prompting the admission convenor to incorporate the new seats into the fresh allotment list.
Before this expansion, a total of around 1.14 lakh BTech seats were available through convenor and B-category admissions combined. Of these, 83,000 seats were under the convenor quota. With the latest approval, 70 per cent of the 7,650 new seats – about 5,355 – will be filled through counselling.
Additionally, around 530 more seats will be reserved under the 10 per cent EWS quota within the convenor category. Prominent institutions such as VNR Vignana Jyothi, MVSR, CVR, and Matrusri colleges are among those granted seat enhancements.
