Telangana aims to become ‘Aero-Engine Capital of India’ by 2030

Hyderabad: Telangana Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Tuesday announced a bold target to make the state the ‘Aero-Engine Capital of India’ by 2030. He said the government has drawn up a detailed plan to attract domestic and global investments into the aerospace sector.

He made this statement while inaugurating a ₹425 crore Aero Engine Rotative Components facility at Adibatla. The plant, set up by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Safran Aircraft Engines, was launched virtually during a ceremony at ITC Kohenur in HITEC City.

Sridhar Babu said Telangana is building a strong reputation as a global hub for aerospace, defence, and space technologies. “Hyderabad is no longer just the City of Pearls. We are transforming it into the city of propulsion, precision, and progress,” he said.

The Minister pointed to rising export figures as proof of growth. Aerospace and defence exports stood at ₹15,900 crore in 2023–24. In just nine months of 2024–25, they already touched ₹30,742 crore.

The Adibatla unit will produce critical parts for LEAP engines used by Airbus and Boeing. These include bearing housings and low-pressure turbine shafts. The unit will create 500 skilled jobs, adding to Telangana’s high-precision manufacturing strength.

Encouraging global investment, Sridhar Babu said, “If you wish to build the future of flight — build it in Telangana.” He invited firms to explore opportunities across engines, MRO, drones, aircraft conversions, AI-driven systems, and space tech.

The event drew key industry figures including TASL CEO Sukaran Singh, Safran VP Dominique Dup, TASL Executive Director Masood Hussain, TGIIC MD Shashank, and Aerospace & Defence Director Praveen P.A.
