Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the state aims to compete with global economies, not just Indian states. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for a new ICHOR Biologics unit in Genome Valley, Shamirpet, he said Hyderabad has already established itself as the bulk drug capital of the world.
Revanth, accompanied by ministers Vivek Venkatswamy and Sridhar Babu, said vaccine exports during the COVID-19 pandemic originated from Genome Valley. He claimed the state had attracted over ₹3 lakh crore in investments in just 18 months. Telangana, he said, is pursuing the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, aiming for a $1 trillion economy within the next decade.
He said the government is implementing a pro-industry policy and sought continued cooperation from the biotech sector. He stressed that the state’s industrial focus is on competing at a global scale.
Minister Vivek Venkatswamy said the government is prioritising job creation. He credited CM Revanth’s initiatives, including a new Skill University, for addressing unemployment. He said attracting more industries is central to the government’s employment strategy and that efforts are underway to promote industrialisation across all sectors.
