Hyderabad: Telangana and the United States share a kindred spirit rooted in friendship and mutual aspiration, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said, as Hyderabad marked America’s Independence Day today.
The CM greeted American citizens and lauded the global transformation set in motion by the United States after independence. He highlighted the U.S.’s refusal to accept defeat and its consistent, positive problem‑solving across diverse challenges. “Telangana seeks that same bond of trust and cooperation,” he added.
Revanth Reddy noted that around 200 U.S. firms – including leaders in IT, pharmaceuticals, defence, manufacturing and aerospace – currently operate in Hyderabad. “We are working to deepen trade relations between Telangana and America,” he said, citing the TelanganaRising initiative aimed at realising a $1 trillion economy by 2037 and reaching $3 trillion by 2047. He appealed to the U.S. for support in achieving these goals. He also acknowledged the growing number of Telangana students pursuing education in America.
Looking ahead, the CM expressed optimism that Hyderabad will draw on top‑tier American expertise and described the “Unite…Stronger” theme as a catalyst for rapid growth. He recalled that under CM Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the U.S. Consulate General was established in Hyderabad, setting the stage for deeper bilateral engagement.
Reiterating the U.S.’s unwavering commitment to India, Revanth Reddy said ties between Telugu‑speaking communities and the United States are stronger than ever, with Telugu gaining traction in America. He urged sustained strategic partnership at the national level, driven by mutual trust and shared values, to boost trade, investment, democracy, military and space research, and global peace.
He concluded by affirming Hyderabad Consul General Jennifer Larson’s pivotal role as a bridge in advancing Telangana‑U.S. trade relations.
