Hyderabad: Ahead of the monsoon session, Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to ensure all preparations were in place for the Assembly and Council sessions starting Saturday.
The meeting took place in the Speaker’s chamber at the Assembly complex. It was attended by Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, and Legislative Secretary Dr. V. Narasimha Charyulu, along with top government and police officials.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, recently granted an extension, joined the session with GAD Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Finance Additional Secretary Ray Ravi, and Protocol Director Sivalingayya.
Senior police leadership included Home Special Chief Secretary Ravi Gupta, DGP Dr. Jitender, ADG (Law & Order) Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional CP Vikram Singh Mann, Cyberabad Commissioner Sudheer Babu, Rachakonda Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, and IG (Intelligence) Karthikeya. Chief marshals of both Houses also participated.
Speaker directs seamless coordination for Assembly and Council sessions
Speaker Prasad Kumar expressed appreciation for the support provided during past sessions. He asked departments to provide timely updates and assist ministers and legislators during debates. He stressed seamless coordination for all legislative tasks.
He directed police to manage traffic efficiently and prevent protests near the Assembly, especially considering flood-related road damage.
Council Chairman’s directives
Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy emphasized appointing nodal officers, ensuring prompt answers to Council questions, and enhancing inter-departmental cooperation. He highlighted the critical role of Telangana Police in maintaining a secure environment.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao assured the Speaker that all departments would remain aligned, with officers on standby to support legislative operations throughout the session.
