DELHI: A delegation of Telangana BC leaders, led by TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, met Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar in Delhi to press for the implementation of the 42% reservation bill passed by the state assembly.
During the meeting, Mahesh Kumar Goud explained that the Telangana Legislative Assembly had passed the bill after conducting a caste census, proposing 42% reservations for Backward Classes. He urged the Union Government to approve the bill and take necessary steps for its implementation.
Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the Union Minister responded positively to their appeal.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Konda Surekha, MP Mallu Ravi, and several MLAs and leaders from Telangana also participated in the meeting.
