Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Sunday congratulated the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on its victory in the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) students union elections.
Calling it a “resounding endorsement,” Ramchander Rao said the ABVP’s win showed that it represents the genuine aspirations of students. He claimed that the support stemmed from students’ belief in placing the nation above caste and religion.
In his statement, Rao recalled how the opposition had attempted to malign ABVP and the BJP by misusing the Rohit Vemula incident. He alleged that parties tried to divide students along caste and religious lines, but their efforts failed.
BJP says ABVP win at HCU reflects student support for nationalism
According to Ramchander Rao, the election result is a strong rebuttal to what he described as “disruptive leftist and separatist forces.” He stated that the ABVP’s foundation on patriotism, nationalism, and student welfare had resonated with students.
He said the trust shown by the student community would inspire ABVP to work with even greater accountability. Furthermore, he added that nationalist groups like ABVP and BJP continue to inspire India’s youth.

The BJP leader criticised other student groups at HCU, claiming they lacked both ideological clarity and numerical strength. He said these groups had formed alliances backed by leftist and separatist forces to push what he called anti-national narratives, while ignoring real student issues.
