Hyderabad: Telangana BJP celebrated the 79th Independence Day at its state headquarters on Friday. State president Ramchander Rao hoisted the national flag in the presence of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, former MP NVS Prabhakar, senior leaders, and party workers.
Rao paid tribute to the freedom fighters who gave their lives for India’s independence. He urged citizens to draw courage from their sacrifices and be ready to serve the nation if required. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had become the first non-Congress leader to hoist the flag from the Red Fort for the 12th time, earning the trust of 1.4 billion Indians despite his humble beginnings as a tea seller.
BJP leaders call for youth to realise freedom fighters’ vision
Rao highlighted the bravery of Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Rajguru, Sukhdev, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He said flag-hoisting and singing the anthem were important, but not enough. Citizens especially the youth should work to realise the vision of these leaders, he stressed.
BJP state general secretaries Dr. Kasam Venkateswarlu and Dugyala Pradeep Kumar, vice-president Gangidi Manohar Reddy, senior leaders Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Yendala Laxminarayana, Sankineni Venkateshwara Rao, MLC Anji Reddy, former MPs, ex-MLAs, and other party office-bearers joined the celebrations.
