Hyderabad: In a shocking incident that has left a family devastated, a two-year-old boy was abducted from the premises of Nalgonda government hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
The child, identified as Somesh Kumar, belongs to Thangapadu village under the Meryal Guda mandal. According to police, his father, Anji Babu, had admitted his wife, Bhagya Lakshmi, to the hospital for treatment after she developed a fever two days earlier. Following initial treatment at a local facility, doctors referred her to the district hospital in Nalgonda, where she was admitted on Monday.
On Tuesday afternoon, Bhagya Lakshmi stepped out of the hospital ward to get lunch. She left her son in the care of a group of women sitting in the hospital courtyard while she visited the restroom. When she returned, the boy was nowhere to be found.
Distraught, the parents immediately approached the Nalgonda Two-Town police station to file a complaint. Police reviewed CCTV footage from the hospital, which revealed that a woman had taken the child and left the premises in an auto-rickshaw.
Investigators are now working to trace the woman and secure the safe return of the child. Efforts are underway to identify the suspect and locate the boy as quickly as possible.
