Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet will convene this afternoon at 3 PM under the chairmanship of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
The meeting, the first with the newly inducted ministers, is likely to focus on administrative and governance-related issues. According to official sources, the Cabinet may take a decision on conducting local body elections and announcing the poll schedule.
The state’s strategy on Godavari river water management is expected to be finalised.
The possibility of inviting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for discussions on inter-state matters is also on the agenda.
Funding mechanisms for various welfare schemes are expected to be reviewed, with decisions likely on allocations and disbursals.
Other items expected to come up include the release of Rythu Bharosa funds, updates on kharif crop preparedness, and farmer-related issues. The Cabinet is also expected to take up the proposed Telangana Sports Policy for discussion.
The state government’s response to the letter from the Kaleshwaram Commission is set to be discussed, along with next steps. The Banakacharla irrigation project is also likely to be examined.
