Hyderabad: The Telangana government cancelled all leave for the irrigation department staff for the next four days after the Meteorological Department issued a heavy rain alert. Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy ordered all personnel to stay at duty stations and remain on constant watch for rainfall-related incidents.

Officials must monitor every irrigation project, reservoir, canal, and tank. At the first sign of a breach or structural damage, they must alert the district collector, district chief engineer, and the Engineer-in-Chief (Irrigation).
The minister directed the Principal Secretary (Irrigation) and the Engineer-in-Chief to track conditions in all irrigation assets statewide. Any alarming situation must be reported without delay. This includes direct reporting to the minister at mobile number 7036836869.
The order emphasised full protection of irrigation assets during the forecast period. It instructed staff to take preventive action quickly to avoid damage.
