Hyderabad: Telangana’s newly appointed Chief Secretary, K. Ramakrishna Rao, undertook an unannounced inspection across various parts of Hyderabad on Sunday, closely evaluating progress on several high-impact infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the city into a global-standard metropolis.
The top bureaucrat’s visit focused on reviewing developments in civic infrastructure including the construction of foot overbridges and flyovers, the long-anticipated metro rail expansion into the Old City, and the strategic H-City initiative near KBR Park. Additionally, he assessed the implementation of sewage treatment plants (STPs), a critical component in the city’s environmental and sanitation framework.
Accompanied by senior officials from multiple departments, Rao visited key project sites to ensure timely execution and inter-departmental coordination. Those present included GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose, Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy, and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) MD Ashok Reddy, among others.
