Hyderabad, January 26: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy extended Republic Day greetings to the people of Telangana and announced a series of welfare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged communities across the state. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the milestones achieved in public governance and introduced new schemes for social upliftment.

The Chief Minister launched four key initiatives, including the Rythu Bharosa scheme, Indiramma Aatmiya Bharosa (Indiramma’s Support), housing under the Indiramma scheme, and the distribution of new ration cards. Under the Rythu Bharosa initiative, Rs 12,000 per year will be credited directly into farmers’ accounts to provide financial assistance.

He expressed satisfaction at fulfilling several guarantees made to the people, adding that the government is committed to addressing the concerns of farmers, unemployed youth, and economically weaker sections. He also announced free bus travel for women in RTC buses, 200 units of free electricity, and LPG cylinders at Rs 500 as part of the government’s ongoing welfare measures.

Additionally, the Chief Minister emphasised the significance of housing for the poor. The Indiramma Houses programme, which was a hallmark of governance between 2004 and 2014, has been reintroduced to ensure that every family in need has a roof over their heads. New ration cards were distributed to families who had been waiting for years to avail of the benefits.

The CM noted that the government has been consistently working to empower marginalised communities, including Dalits, tribals, minorities, and women. He highlighted the recruitment of 50,153 government employees in the first year of his term, addressing the long-standing issue of unemployment among the youth.

In his speech, the Chief Minister also touched upon initiatives for students and cultural preservation. He stated that Telangana now has its own state song and has introduced the concept of Telangana Talli to instil pride among its citizens.

Concluding his address, he thanked the people for their continued support and pledged to further the state’s welfare and development. He reiterated the government’s commitment to solving the state’s pressing issues and providing a brighter future for all.
