HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting an appointment to discuss reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in education, employment, and local bodies. The request follows the Telangana Legislative Assembly’s approval of two separate bills aimed at providing 42% reservations for BCs.
The Chief Minister has urged the Prime Minister to grant a meeting with a delegation comprising representatives from all political parties in the Telangana Assembly, including the Congress, BRS, BJP, AIMIM, and CPI.
During discussions in the state legislature, all political parties agreed on the necessity of seeking central government support for implementing the 42% BC reservations. The Chief Minister proposed that representatives of all parties accompany him to meet with the Prime Minister to advocate for the approval of these bills at the national level.
In his letter, Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of securing central government backing and requested a formal appointment with PM Modi to present the state’s case.
