Hyderabad: The Telangana government has completed its drive to supply three months’ worth of ration rice in one go, following instructions from the Centre. Officials said the exercise concluded on Sunday.
According to state authorities, nearly 92.18% of eligible beneficiaries have collected their share, amounting to around 5.27 lakh tonnes of fine rice.
People who have not yet received their entitlement were urged to visit nearby ration shops with their ration card and Aadhaar card to claim their quota without delay.
The Centre had directed advance distribution of rations for June, July, and August due to concerns over monsoon rains and possible flooding.
Under the policy, each individual is entitled to 18 kg of fine rice for three months, calculated at 6 kg per month.
Officials confirmed the next distribution cycle will begin in September.
