Hyderabad: Telangana Congress will launch a major BC Reservation Protest in Delhi on August 6, demanding 42% reservation for Backward Classes in the state. The protest will be led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud.
As part of the plan, Congress will push for a discussion in Parliament on August 5 through a suspension motion. The party aims to highlight the demand for 42% BC reservations and create national pressure.
On August 6, a massive dharna will be held at Jantar Mantar. Senior Congress leaders and workers from across Telangana will participate in the BC Reservation Protest to demand immediate implementation.
The campaign will continue on August 7, when Congress leaders will meet the President and submit memoranda seeking approval of the BC reservation bill passed by the Telangana Assembly.
To ensure strong participation, TPCC has arranged a special train from Cherlapalli railway station to Delhi. The train will depart at 9 a.m. on August 4. Each District Congress Committee (DCC) has been asked to nominate 25 representatives for the journey.
The return train is scheduled for the evening of August 7. All participants are required to carry their Aadhaar cards.
The party will provide accommodation, food, and transport in Delhi. DCC presidents have been instructed to ensure that delegates reach Cherlapalli station on time
